ABOUT THE NTCCC
The National Trade
Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC) is currently made up of
national trade organizations including:
Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada
Canadian Electrical Contractors Association
Canadian Masonry Contractors Association
Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association
Canadian Roofing Contractors Association
Heating,
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada
Ontario Sheet
Metal Contractors Association
Thermal Insulation Association of Canada
Interior Systems Contractors Association
Most of the remaining national trade associations have
indicated interest in becoming involved in NTCCC, many have attended Coalition
meetings, and they are expected to actively participate in the near future.
The Coalition has determined that they will initially
concentrated on the three priority issues: getting paid and getting paid
promptly for work performed, promotion of unaltered forms of industry accepted
standard forms of contracts, and promotion of the bid depository system across
Canada.
The Coalition agreed to two formal working relationships.
The first with the Construction Sector Council (CSC). The Coalition’s
constituent member associations will be working with CSC on human resource
issues that affect all contractors particularly those that are
labour-intensive. In addition, the Coalition agreed to a requested liaison with
the Trade Contractors Council of the Canadian Construction Association as
members of both organizations share common interests and concerns.
Management education is another topic that is of paramount
interest to trade contractors and an agreement to share programs amongst
constituent member associations has been established. |
