The
National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC) members will
be meeting with MPP’s at the Ontario Legislative Building in Queen’s
park, Toronto, Ontario on November 18, 2009 in support of local
industry. There are several proposed
changes to the Construction Lein Act, particularly with regards
to prompt payment which NTCCC will support. If successful, the NTCCC
will use the Ontario program as a template for other provincial
jurisdictions where changes may need to be implemented.

NTCCC DAY
ON THE HILL - OTTAWA, May 20, 2009
NTCCC DAY
ON THE HILL - OTTAWA, May 11, 2010
The
National Trade
Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC) visited Parliament Hill
urging politicians to create
Prompt
Payment Legislation to alleviate some of the pressure from the
current economic situation affecting their businesses across
Canada.
The NTCCC explained that the solution to the delayed payment problem
is Prompt Payment Legislation, similar to what already exists in the
United Kingdom and the United States. Prompt payment legislation in
Canada would provide contractors with the tools to ensure that their
businesses can remain competitive and productive, and would also
encourage a culture of prompt payment that is presently absent and
is much needed.

undertaken several additional initiatives which are now in development or under
consideration.
NTCCC has developed a "Best
Practices Guide" which is based on the excellent guide
originally developed by the Vancouver regional Construction
Association, and with their permission.
NTCCC has also created a link to educational programs which are
available to all NTCCC constituent members with some of the
industries leading management trainers through the "National
Seminar Program".
